Pre-K
Swim Lessons

Sea Love Swim private lessons for Pre-K swimmers, ages 4 and 5 years old, are 25 - 30 minutes long.

The Association of Pediatrics confirms that most kids are ready for swim lessons by the age of 4. We believe this assessment is because 4 and 5 year old swimmers are emotionally and physically ready to learn proper swimming strokes.

Our Swimming Lessons are designed to meet our swimmers where they are comfortable in the water and gently progress them forward using Sea Love Swim building block techniques. This means that our curriculum teaches basic water safety skills as well as apprehensible stroke progressions like swim-roll-swim to full freestyle with side-breathing.

At 4 and 5 years old we do not have parents in the water however, we always encourage our parents to be within view of their child's lesson so they can help promote their swimmers successful steps toward water safety from the pool deck.

Should you feel your child is not emotionally ready for private swim lessons without you in the water, we recommend taking our virtual water acclimation course first. This is where we guide parents through our First Steps to Water Safety introductory swim skills which will help acclimate your child to the water and prepare them for what to expect when they begin formal swimming lessons.

How Frequently Should My Pre-K Swimmer Take Swim Lessons?

At Sea Love Swim we maintain that any consistent exposure to water in a formal setting will help a child acquire swimming skills however consistency and frequency both play key rolls when learning something new. This is why we recommend Pre-K swimmers, ages 4 and 5 year olds, to participate in lessons at least twice a week or more in order to aid in cognitive their and muscle memory retention of the water safety skills they are learning.

Our lessons packages are also designed to provide a monetary discount to help persuade families to increase frequency of lessons for this age. After a Pre-K swimmer has accomplished First Steps to Water Safety Skills and swimming techniques, we recommend once a week for maintenance of their new established swimming skills.
